Testimonials
Over the years we have received visitors from near and far young and old. All seem to enjoy their experience whether walking the trails, tasting the syrup, talking to the Kettle Boys or Shanty Men or just smelling the steam from the boiling sap.
Our visitor book shows visitors from many foreign countries. Several of these visitors were making their first trip to Canada to see our forests and enjoy a maple experience. Some of the more distant countries are Australia. Singapore, Switzerland, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Russia, Norway, England, Ireland, France, Belgium and Germany. Of course most visitors come from Ontario, but visitors have also come from every Province and Territory in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Our visitor book also records many remarks by visitors to Fortune Farms. Here are some of their comments
Trails are lovely
Great, we come every year
I came all the way from PEI for the best syrup anywhere.
Great fun and interesting
The Thuswaldner family has been going to Fortune Farms for years and it is always an enjoyable experience. We look forward to the outing each year as a celebration of the end of winter and the onset of warmer weather. The fact that Fortune Farms is a family run operation takes the commercial edge out of the equation and makes the visit all the more enjoyable. The walk through the sugar bush up to where the Kettle Boys hang out is a must as is the taste of fresh maple taffy on snow. Whatever your preferences, the Fortune Family will make and effort to ensure that your visit is fun as well as educational.
The McLellan family from Hammond Ontario wrote. "Our visit to Fortune Farms was an entertaining, interactive and educational experience. We had fun with the Kettle Boys' show, with wooden toys and their fresh boiled syrup and snowball toffee. We were able to see the historical and modern ways of making syrup. There were youngsters and seniors with us and they both really enjoyed the outing. Best of all we were able to visit a glorious sugar maple bush and bring home some tasty maple syrup, maple syrup candy and some great photos."
